Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about neighbourhood character, local customs, nearby places, local making and the rhythms of community life. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not send a finished article unless requested.
What makes a good pitch
Suggest one clear subject and explain what a reader might notice or understand after reading. Strong proposals are specific, grounded in a place or a defined local practice, and distinct from a broad travel itinerary or general lifestyle essay.
A careful point of view
We value clear observation, respectful context and plain English. Tell us what the piece would cover, what makes the angle distinct and whether it depends on local rules or other details that would need checking. Avoid unsupported claims and sweeping statements about a community.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your proposed title, a short outline and any relevant experience with the subject. We cannot promise a response to every proposal or accept every pitch.
Place is made in the details
A neighbourhood is more than its map. We look at the small customs, familiar places and shared choices through which local character takes shape.
